Train operators affected
Between London St Pancras International / London Victoria and Ramsgate, between London Victoria and Canterbury East, and also between Sheerness-on-Sea and Sittingbourne
A train hitting an obstruction on the line at Teynham is causing disruption to trains running between Newington / Sheerness-on-Sea and Sittingbourne / Faversham. Trains running between these stations will be cancelled or revised.
Major disruption is expected until the end of the day.
What's happened?
A train has collided with a van at a level crossing near Teynham blocking the line between Gillingham and Faversham. We have been working alongside emergency services to help investigate the incident and clear the line, and the line is no reopening.
How does this affect my journey?
Southeastern trains were unable to travel between Gillingham and Faversham.
High Speed services could not run via Faversham and the Medway towns, but High Speed services via Ashford International are running.
Trains on the following routes are likely to be delayed, cancelled and altered for the rest of the day:
London St Pancras International to Faversham / Ramsgate via Gravesend
London Victoria to Ramsgate / Canterbury East via Chatham
The first high speed trains running through the area tonight are:
20:21 Ramsgate to London St Pancras International
22:20 London St Pancras International to Faversham

A very limited replacement bus service is running between Gillingham & Faversham and between Sittingbourne and Sheerness.
You can use your ticket at no extra cost on:
Fast Track buses between Gravesend and Ebbsfleet
Thameslink trains
High Speed trains
Passengers for Canterbury East are recommended to use trains between London St Pancras International / London Charing Cross and Canterbury West.
