Description
There was a fire alarm sounding in a signal box at Tutbury & Hatton. Trains between Derby and Uttoxeter are now able to run but may still be delayed by up to 40 minutes or cancelled as services return to normal.
Disruption is expected until 18:00.
Derbyshire Fire and Rescue have assessed that it is safe to move trains through the area. Network Rail have now put a safe system of work in place, meaning trains can run through the area.
How does this affect my train?
Trains running through the area in both directions are now able to run between Derby and Crewe.
Some trains may be altered or cancelled at short-notice, as trains and train crew are displaced.
How do I get where I need to be?
You should continue to travel as originally planned.
You can use your ticket to travel at no extra cost on the following:
CrossCountry services between Derby and Tamworth, and also between Tamworth and Stoke-on-Trent
West Midlands Railway services between Stoke-on-Trent and Crewe
Travelling via Tamworth will extend your journey time by 30-60 minutes.
All of these alternative route options are available in the opposite direction too. Don’t worry about your ticket, other train operators know about the disruption to your journey and your ticket can be used at no extra cost on their trains.
Rail replacement buses will run between Derby and Stoke-on-Trent in both directions.
These arrangements will remain in place until the line re-opens and the train service recovers.
