Trains between Uckfield and London Bridge

Description

A safety inspection of the track between Uckfield and Oxted means all lines are blocked. As a result, trains will be cancelled, delayed or revised.

Disruption is expected until 12:00.

Customer advice:

Due to a safety inspection of the track in the Cowden area, your quickest option is to travel via Haywards Heath or East Grinstead if you can, or use a local bus service between Uckfield and Tunbridge Wells.

No trains can run between Uckfield and Oxted until further notice. You will need to use an alternative route to reach your destination.

You should allow at least an additional 60 minutes to complete your journey today.

Can I use my ticket with another operator?

You can travel on the following services at no additional cost:

  • Southern services on any alternative route including from Haywards Heath and Lewes

  • Thameslink services between London (stations) and Haywards Heath

  • Southeastern services between London Bridge and Tunbridge Wells

  • Brighton & Hove Bus Route 29/29B/29X between Brighton and Tunbridge Wells

Replacement buses are en route:

Southern have been able to resource some replacement buses, so you may be able to use these to get to your destination.

These buses are expected to arrive between 09:30 - 09:45.

They are then due to operate under direction of station staff at the following stations:

  • x1 Bus heading to Oxted to run all stops to Crowborough

  • x1 Bus heading to Crowborough to run all stops to Oxted

  • x1 Bus heading to Uckfield to run / from Crowborough


The bus suppliers will be Bus Hire Group & Starline Coaches.

Can you tell me more about the incident?

We've had reports of a track defect on the Uckfield line at Cowden, and this is causing delays to services travelling through this area.

Whilst staff work with Network Rail engineers to rectify the fault as quickly as possible, it is advised that you should allow an additional 60 minutes to complete your journey and you will need to use an alternative route.
