Between Uckfield and London Bridge

Description

A fault with the signalling system between Uckfield and Oxted means that trains are unable to run between these stations and will be cancelled, revised or diverted to start / terminate at East Grinstead.

Disruption is expected until 11:00.

Customer advice:

Southern services that normally serve Uckfield will not do so. Trains are likely to be cancelled, or may be diverted to East Grinstead instead. If you're travelling this morning, you will need to take an alternative route.

The following stations will have no Southern service until further notice:

  • Uckfield

  • Buxted

  • Crowborough

  • Eridge

  • Ashurst

  • Cowden

  • Hever

  • Edenbridge Town

You should leave at least 45 minutes extra to complete your journey. For the latest information, you should listen to announcements, check station screens, and consult journey planners.

Replacement buses

Replacement buses have been requested to run between Uckfield and Oxted, in place of trains. When confirmed, these will be advertised on journey planners and station information screens.

Buses from Uckfield towards Oxted will depart Uckfield at xx:33. Buses from Oxted towards Uckfield will depart Oxted at xx:36.

Alternative journey advice

Your ticket will be accepted on Southeastern services via Tunbridge Wells and Tonbridge. You can connect with these services using Brighton & Hove Buses 29, or using Southern services from Edenbridge stations.

Alternatively, you can travel on Southern services from Edenbridge to Redhill, where you can connect with Southern and Thameslink services to London.

Additionally, you can travel on alternative Southern or Thameslink services from East Grinstead, or stations on the Brighton Main Line, such as Gatwick Airport or Haywards Heath.

Finally, if you are travelling on a train to a different London Terminal than your intended destination, you can use London Underground to help you reach your destination in the London area.

Ticket acceptance

Your ticket will be accepted on the below at no additional cost:

  • Southern and Thameslink services between the south coast / East Grinstead and London, including via Redhill

  • Southeastern services between Tunbridge Wells and London Terminals

  • London Underground services between London Terminals, or as required to complete your journey in London


Additionally, your ticket will be accepted on the Brighton & Hove bus routes 29 / 29B / 29X between Brighton, Lewes, Uckfield, Crowborough, and Tunbridge Wells, to connect with alternative services.

A loss of the signalling system between Uckfield and Hurst Green means that trains are unable to run along this line. We are working with Network Rail to investigate and rectify this issue.

In the mean time, you will need to use an alternative route to complete your journey.
