Description
The Met Office are advising that heatwave conditions are forecast for parts of England and Wales with temperatures expected to remain high until at least Saturday 27 June.
The hot weather is set to be widespread over England and Wales, and highs of up to 38°C are possible in some areas. There are red and amber weather warnings in place for extreme heat covering parts of England and Wales from today, Monday 22 to Thursday 25 June.
Due to the forecasted high temperatures across the Avanti West Coast route over the coming days, they will be introducing temporary travel easements to support customers in completing their journeys more comfortably.

Booked to travel this week? Avanti West Coast are offering additional ticket flexibility to help keep you moving safely and as comfortably as possible in the extreme high temperatures.
You are strongly recommended to travel earlier in the day if you can, with cooler temperatures expected before 12:00. Please check the Avanti West Coast travel advice and ticket options below before you travel.
Tuesday 23 June:
Tickets dates Tuesday 23 June can be used at no extra cost (and without changing them) to travel on Monday 22 June, or on any earlier Avanti West Coast service on Tuesday.
Wednesday 24 June:
Tickets dated Wednesday 24 June can be used at no extra cost (and without changing them) to travel on Tuesday 23 June, or on any earlier Avanti West Coast service on Wednesday.
Thursday 25 June:
Tickets dated Thursday 25 June can be used at no extra cost (and without changing them) to travel on Wednesday 24 or Friday 26 June, or on any earlier Avanti West Coast service on Thursday.
Monday 22, Friday 26 and Saturday 27 June:
Customers should travel on their booked Avanti West Coast service as planned.
If you no longer wish to travel Avanti West Coast tickets dated Tuesday 23, Wednesday 24 or Thursday 25 June will be eligible for a full refund from where you bought your ticket.
Additional advice to ensure a safe and comfortable journey:
Please carry water with you - you can find water refill stations at all Network Rail managed stations and some other larger stations.
If you feel unwell at the station, please don't board a train, please seek assistance from station staff or use the help point.
