Description
This weekend, from Friday 7 to Sunday 9 August, Avanti West Coast are seeing some short-notice cancellations and alterations on their network, so please check your journey before you travel.
Avanti West Coast are working hard to minimise these cancellations and alterations.
Trains are likely to be busy, so please do check before you travel.
If your train is cancelled, your ticket is valid on one of the two Avanti West Coast services immediately before your booked train, or one of the two immediately after.
Alternative routes may also be available with other operators - please speak to staff when you get to the station.
If your journey is delayed 15 minutes or more, you can claim compensation using the Avanti West Coast website.
If you no longer wish to travel because your train's delayed or cancelled, you can request a full refund from where you bought your ticket.
Check before you travel:
You can check your journey using the National Rail Enquiries real-time Journey Planner. If your booked Avanti West Coast train is cancelled, the journey planner will show you the 2 running trains before and after that time that you can travel on. Due to the short notice nature of some of the cancellations and alterations, we advise you to re-check your journey on the day you are travelling before you set off.
Compensation:
You may be entitled to compensation if you experience a delay in completing your journey today. Please keep your train ticket and make a note of your journey, as both will be required to support any claim.
