Description

There are yellow and amber weather warnings associated with Storm Claudia in place today, Friday 14 November, across parts of England.

The poor weather is expected to cause disruption to services running across the Avanti West Coast network. A reduced service will be in operation throughout the day.

Please check your entire journey in full before you travel.

Your ticket can be used at no extra cost on the following services and routes:

• CrossCountry services between Edinburgh and Birmingham New Street

• London Northwestern Railway / West Midlands Railway services between Stafford and Birmingham New Street / London Euston and also between Lichfield Trent Valley and Tamworth

• TransPennine Express services between Glasgow Central and Preston

Travelling from the West Midlands to stations towards Glasgow Central and Edinburgh:

Avanti West Coast ticket holders travelling to stations towards Glasgow Central and Edinburgh may use London Northwestern Railway services from the West Midlands to Stafford, where they can connect with Avanti West Coast services to Glasgow Central.

For passengers travelling to Edinburgh, please change at Preston from the Glasgow-bound service.

Travelling from Edinburgh and Glasgow Central to the West Midlands:

If you are travelling southbound towards the West Midlands you may use Glasgow Central to Stafford services, where you can connect with London Northwestern Railway services to stations across the West Midlands.

Alternatively, you can use Edinburgh to Preston services and then you can connect with a service to Stafford, where you can connect with London Northwestern Railway services.

Passengers travelling between Glasgow Central and Preston can use their ticket at no extra cost on TransPennine Express services in both directions.

Passengers travelling southbound from Edinburgh should change at Preston for the Glasgow–England service to connect with onward services towards the West Midlands.

Travelling to and from Tamworth and Lichfield Trent Valley:

Customers connecting for Lichfield Trent Valley and Tamworth and can use their tickets at no extra cost to connect from stations between Stafford and London Euston.
