Trains between Wakefield Kirkgate and York

Description

Theft of signalling cables between Wakefield Kirkgate and York means all lines are blocked. As a result, trains may be cancelled, delayed or diverted.

Disruption is expected until 12:00.

Additional information:

Theft of signalling cables means all lines are blocked. Trains are currently unable to run between Wakefield Kirkgate and York. Network Rail staff are aware of the issue are on on-site trying to restore the signalling.

Customer advice:

Rail replacement transport has been requested hourly as follows:

  • Wakefield Kirkgate to York starting at 11:15 and then hourly at XX:15, calling at Normanton and Castleford

  • York to Wakefield Kirkgate starting at 10:00 and then hourly at at XX:00, calling at Castleford and Normanton

Please see station information posters for the location of rail replacement pick up points and be advised that journey times may be extended by 60 minutes whilst travelling by rail replacement transport.
