Description
A points failure in the Wakefield Kirkgate area means some lines are blocked. Trains running between Wakefield Westgate and Knottingley may be cancelled, delayed by up to 40 minutes, revised or diverted.
At present, trains will not call at Wakefield Westgate.
Network Rail staff are on site but will not be able to make full repairs until end of service tonight. Disruption is expected until the end of the day.
Please note also that a landslip in the Darton area means that services are unable to run between Wakefield Kirkgate and Barnsley.
How does this affect my journey?
Train services are unable to run between Wakefield Westgate and Wakefield Kirkgate (in both directions). These services will divert and start from Wakefield Kirkgate calling at stations to Knottingley.
What should I do?
Please use other Northern services for Wakefield Westgate.
Leeds to Knottingley via Castleford services are not affected.
Customers at Wakefield Westgate requiring Knottingley should use Wakefield Kirkgate instead.
