Description

Lines have reopened following disruption caused by a fault on a train at Wakefield Kirkgate.

As services recover, trains running through this station may still be cancelled or delayed by up to 50 minutes.

This is expected until 13:00.

You can travel on the next Northern service to your destination, where available.

Please note that other train operators may also be affected by disruption – please check your whole journey before travelling.

Northern train ticket restrictions have been lifted in the affected areas, including Advance and Peak restrictions, during this disruption. Restrictions will be reinstated once the disruption ends.

Road Transport details:

Road transport has been arranged as follows:

  • 12:05 - from Wakefield Kirkgate, calling all stations to Pontefract Monkhill

  • 12:45 - from Pontefract Monkhill, calling all station to Wakefield Kirkgate

  • 12:05 - from Leeds, calling at all stations to Barnsley

Please check station information posters for the location of the bus pick-up points and be advised that bicycles, e-bikes and dogs (except for service dogs) are not permitted on replacement road transport.

Journey times may be extended by up to 40 minutes whilst travelling by road transport.
