Description

Lines have reopened following a fault with the signalling system between Motherwell and Whifflet / Newton. Whilst service recovers, trains running between these stations may still be delayed by up to 20 minutes, cancelled or revised to start and terminate at different stations.

Disruption is expected until 20:00.

ScotRail customer advice:

A replacement bus shuttle is now in operation between Motherwell and Glasgow Central calling at Bellshill Uddingston in both directions.

You can use your ticket, at no additional cost on the following routes:

  • ScotRail services via any alternative route to your destination

  • JMB between Motherwell - Hamilton - Lanark

  • Whitelaws between Motherwell - Hamilton - Larkhall

If you have had to drive to another station your ticket will be valid to collect your car on your return journey. Speak to a member of staff to validate your ticket.

You can use your ticket at no extra cost on the following services:

  • Alternative TransPennine Express services between Manchester Airport and Preston / Edinburgh

  • Avanti West Coast services between Preston / Carlisle and Edinburgh

  • Northern services between Manchester Airport / Liverpool Lime Street and Preston

  • ScotRail services between Edinburgh and Glasgow Central
