Description

There is fire next to the track in the Winsford area, closing all lines running through this station.

As a result of this issue, trains running between Crewe and Runcorn / Warrington Bank Quay may be cancelled, delayed by up to 60 minutes, revised or diverted.

Major disruption is expected until the end of the day.

Avanti West Coast customer advice:

Trains may be diverted to avoid the affected area.

Tickets will be accepted at no extra cost on the following routes:

  • Northern services between Manchester Piccadilly and Preston / Liverpool Lime Street

  • TransPennine Express services between Manchester Piccadilly and Liverpool Lime Street

If your train is cancelled, your ticket is valid on one of the two Avanti West Coast services immediately before your booked train, or one of the two immediately after.

If you no longer wish to travel because your train's delayed or cancelled, you can request a full refund from where you bought your ticket.

London Northwestern Railway customer advice:

Tickets can be used, at no extra cost, on Northern and Merseyrail services between Liverpool South Parkway and Liverpool Lime Street.
