Description
Storm Amy is expected to bring high winds and heavy rain to many parts of Scotland, England and Wales, with the potential for widespread disruption to rail services until the end of the day Saturday 4 October.
Yellow weather warnings have been issued by the Met Office.
Network Rail’s specialist weather team are closely monitoring the storm’s path and working with operators to confirm which routes are most likely to be impacted.

Services on the following routes are subject to delays and short notice cancellations in both directions:
Damage to the overhead wires between Crewe and Runcorn means trains between Wolverhampton and Liverpool Lime Street may be cancelled, delayed by up to 60 minutes or revised. Disruption is expected until 14:00

Avanti West Coast between Birmingham stations / Chester / Liverpool Lime Street and Crewe

Northern between Liverpool Lime Street and Liverpool South Parkway, and between Stoke-on-Trent and Crewe
Transport for Wales between Shrewsbury / Chester and Crewe
Rail replacement transport is currently in operation between:
Stafford and Wolverhampton in both directions until further notice
Crewe and Liverpool Lime Street in both directions until further notice
Please note replacement coach availability is very limited at present which is likely to cause long wait times and limited capacity on board.
