The points failure at Wolverhampton has now been fixed and trains can begin to run as normal. While service recovers, trains running through this station may still be delayed by up to 30 minutes, revised or diverted.

Disruption is expected until 18:00.

Avanti West Coast customer advice:

If your train is cancelled, your ticket is valid on one of the two Avanti West Coast services immediately before your booked train, or one of the two immediately after.

If you no longer wish to travel because your train is delayed or cancelled, you can request a full refund from where you bought your ticket.

CrossCountry customer advice:

You can use your ticket at no extra cost on the following services:

  • The two CrossCountry services operating before and after your cancelled service

  • London Northwestern Railway / West Midlands Railway services between Wolverhampton and Birmingham New Street

Unfortunately, any seat reservations will not be carried over to another train, but Coach B, H and L are our unreserved coaches on CrossCountry services (where available) so please head to them.

London Northwestern Railway customer advice:

Passengers at Willenhall and Darlaston wishing to travel to Birmingham New Street may either travel to Wolverhampton and change there for train services to Birmingham New Street, or your tickets are valid at no extra cost on local National Express West Midlands bus services to Birmingham New Street.

Check before you travel:

You can check your journey using the National Rail Enquiries real-time Journey Planner.

Compensation:

You may be entitled to compensation if you experience a delay in completing your journey today. Please keep your train ticket and make a note of your journey, as both will be required to support any claim.
