Description

The Met Office are advising that heatwave conditions are forecast for parts of England and Wales with temperatures expected to remain high until at least Saturday 27 June.

The hot weather is set to be widespread over England and Wales, and highs of up to 38°C are possible in some areas. There are red and amber weather warnings in place for extreme heat covering parts of England and Wales until Thursday 25 June.

Although CrossCountry are expecting to run a normal service over this period, you are strongly advised to only travel if essential on Wednesday 24 and Thursday 25 June. Services across the network may be subject to short-notice changes and alterations.

Customer advice:

CrossCountry tickets dated for travel on Tuesday 23, Wednesday 24 and Thursday 25 June can be used at no extra cost to travel on earlier services on the same day, or can be used on CrossCountry services on Friday 26 June.

If you do choose to travel, it is recommended you do so as early in the day as possible as the temperatures are likely to be cooler at this time. You are advised to check your entire journey before travelling and can see more information on CrossCountry's dedicated travel information page.

If you no longer wish to travel, CrossCountry tickets dated Tuesday 23, Wednesday 24 and Thursday 25 June will be eligible for a full refund from where you brought your ticket.
