Great Northern services during Christmas and New Year 2020/2021

Please find below a day-by-day summary of the services that Great Northern will be running over the Christmas and New Year Bank Holiday period.

Wednesday 23 December

 

From approximately 23:00, buses will replace trains between Ely and Kings Lynn.

Thursday 24 December

 

An amended timetable will operate on all routes. There will be an early close to the service, with the last trains leaving London by around 22:00.

Friday 25 December

 

No service.

Saturday 26 December

 

No service.

Sunday 27 December

 

An amended Sunday service will operate.

Due to engineering work, there will be no Great Northern trains between Finsbury Park and London Kings Cross.

Trains will run between Welwyn Garden City / Stevenage and Moorgate via Hertford North.

Trains which normally run between Peterborough / Cambridge / Kings Lynn and London Kings Cross will run only between Peterborough / Cambridge / Kings Lynn and Finsbury Park. They will also run to an amended timetable.

Customers should use London Underground between Finsbury Park and London Kings Cross.

Monday 28 December

 

An amended Saturday service will operate.

Due to engineering work, there will be no Great Northern trains between Finsbury Park and London Kings Cross.

Trains will run between Welwyn Garden City / Stevenage and Moorgate via Hertford North.

Trains which normally run between Peterborough / Cambridge / Kings Lynn and London Kings Cross will run only between Peterborough / Cambridge / Kings Lynn and Finsbury Park. They will also run to an amended timetable.

Customers should use London Underground between Finsbury Park and London Kings Cross or Thameslink services running to / from London St Pancras International.

Tuesday 29 December

 

An amended Saturday service will operate.

Due to engineering work, there will be no Great Northern trains between Finsbury Park and London Kings Cross.

Trains will run between Welwyn Garden City / Stevenage and Moorgate via Hertford North.

Trains which normally run between Peterborough / Cambridge / Kings Lynn and London Kings Cross will run only between Peterborough / Cambridge / Kings Lynn and Finsbury Park. They will also run to an amended timetable.

Customers should use London Underground between Finsbury Park and London Kings Cross.

Wednesday 30 December

 

An amended Saturday service will operate.

Due to engineering work, there will be no Great Northern trains between Finsbury Park and London Kings Cross.

Thursday 31 December

 

An amended Saturday service will operate.

Due to engineering work, trains will run to an amended timetable to and from London Kings Cross.

Friday 1 January 2021

 

An amended Sunday service will operate.

Due to engineering work, trains will run to an amended timetable to and from London Kings Cross.

Saturday 2 January

 

An amended Saturday service will operate.

Due to engineering work, trains will not run between Peterborough and London Kings Cross. Customers can instead use Thameslink services.

Sunday 3 January

 

An amended Sunday service will operate.

Until 08:30, trains will not run to / from London Kings Cross until after 08:30. Replacement buses will run between Gordon Hill / New Barnet and Finsbury Park and customers can also use London Underground services between Finsbury Park and London Kings Cross. For the rest of the day, trains to / from London Kings Cross will run to an amended timetable.
