London Northwestern Railway services during Christmas and New Year 2020/2021

Please find below a day-by-day summary of the services that will be running over the Christmas and New Year Bank Holiday period.

Wednesday 23 December

 

No engineering work is planned on this day.

Thursday 24 December

 

After 19.00 services will begin to wind down on most routes, and a reduced timetable will operate. Last trains will be earlier than usual.

Friday 25 December

 

No service.

Saturday 26 December

 

No service.

Sunday 27 December

 

A normal Sunday timetable will run, first trains may be slightly later than usual.

No engineering work is planned on this day.

Monday 28 December

 

An amended timetable will be running on most routes.

Services between Watford Junction and St.Albans Abbey, and between Bedford and Bletchley, will operate to a special timetable based on Saturday service frequency.

After 23:00, due to engineering work, trains between London Euston and Northampton will be amended to run between London Euston and Milton Keynes Central only. Replacement buses will run between Milton Keynes Central and Northampton.

Tuesday 29 December

 

An amended timetable will be running on most routes.

Services between Watford Junction and St.Albans Abbey, and between Bedford and Bletchley, will operate to a special timetable based on Saturday service frequency.

Wednesday 30 December

 

An amended timetable will be running on most routes.

Services between Watford Junction and St.Albans Abbey, and between Bedford and Bletchley, will operate to a special timetable based on Saturday service frequency.

Thursday 31 December

 

An amended timetable will be running on most routes. After 19:00 services will begin to wind down on most routes, and a reduced timetable will operate. Last trains will be earlier than usual.

Services between Watford Junction and St.Albans Abbey, and between Bedford and Bletchley, will operate to a special timetable based on Saturday service frequency.

Friday 1 January 2021

 

A Sunday train frequency will run, with the first trains starting later than normal.

No service between Bedford and Bletchley.

Before 12:00, due to engineering work, services that run between Liverpool Lime Street / Crewe / Shrewsbury / Wolverhampton and Birmingham New Street will be diverted, and will not call at intermediate stations between Wolverhampton and Birmingham New Street. Replacement buses will run between Wolverhampton and Birmingham New Street, serving intermediate stations.

Saturday 2 January

 

No engineering work is planned on this day.

Sunday 3 January

 

Due to engineering work:

Until 09:00, no trains will run between London Euston and Milton Keynes Central / Northampton. Trains will be replaced by buses.

After 09:00, trains will run to a reduced timetable between London Euston and Northampton.
