Thameslink services during Christmas and New Year 2021/2022

​​​​​​​Please find below a day-by-day summary of the services that Thameslink will be running over the Christmas and New Year Bank Holiday period.

Thursday 23 December

 

Normal service, no engineering work is planned.

Friday 24 December

 

Normal service during the day, with an early close down from 18:00 onwards. Please check your journey to make sure your service will be running.

Saturday 25 December

 

No service.

Sunday 26 December

 

No service.

Monday 27 December

 

A revised service will operate on all routes for the Bank Holiday.

Engineering work will be taking place in the Kentish Town area. As a result:

  • Luton / St Albans / London Blackfriars - Sutton services will run to a revised timetable.
  • Luton - Rainham services will only run between London Bridge and Rainham.

Tuesday 28 December

 

A revised service will operate on all routes for the Bank Holiday.

Engineering work will be taking place in the Kentish Town area. As a result:

  • Luton / St Albans / London Blackfriars - Sutton services will run to a revised timetable.
  • Luton - Rainham services will only run between London Bridge and Rainham.

From approximately 01:15 to 04:15, early morning engineering work will be taking place between Gillingham and Gravesend. As a result buses will replace trains between these stations at this time.

Wednesday 29 December

 

Trains will operate to an amended service for the holiday period.

Engineering work will be taking place in the Kentish Town area. As a result:

  • Luton / St Albans / London Blackfriars - Sutton services will run to a revised timetable.
  • Luton - Rainham services will only run between Dartford and Rainham. You can use your ticket on Southeastern services between London Bridge and Dartford.

From approximately 01:15 to 04:15, early morning engineering work will be taking place between Gillingham and Gravesend. As a result buses will replace trains between these stations at this time.

Saturday 1 January 2022

 

A revised timetable will run on New Year's Day.

Engineering work will be taking place in the Kentish Town area. As a result:

  • Luton / St Albans / London Blackfriars - Sutton services will run to a revised timetable.
  • Luton - Rainham services will only run between London Bridge and Rainham.

From 23:45 until end of service, overnight engineering work will be taking place between Earlswood and Three Bridges. As a result, trains will not be able to stop at Earlswood or Salfords. Buses will run between Redhill and Horley to provide connections for these stations.

Sunday 2 January

 

Engineering work will be taking place in the Kentish Town area. As a result:

  • Luton / St Albans / London Blackfriars - Sutton services will run to a revised timetable.
  • Luton - Rainham services will only run between London Bridge and Rainham.

Until 07:30 engineering work will be taking place between Hitchin and Peterborough. Buses will replace very early morning trains between these stations.

Until 08:05 engineering work will be taking place between Bedford and Luton. Buses will replace trains between these stations at this time.

Until 08:40 in the morning and from 23:00 until end of service, overnight engineering work will be taking place between Earlswood and Three Bridges. As a result, trains will not be able to stop at Earlswood or Salfords. Buses will run between Redhill and Horley to provide connections for these stations.

Until 08:30 in the morning engineering work will be taking place between London Kings Cross and Finsbury Park. As a result, no trains will run between London Kings Cross and Finsbury Park, you can use London Underground or London Buses to complete your journey.

From 00:25 until 09:15 in the morning, and from 22:35 until 04:30 on Monday engineering work will be taking place between Haywards Heath and Brighton. Buses will replace trains between these stations at these times.

Monday 3 January

 

A revised timetable will run on the Bank Holiday Monday.

Engineering work will be taking place in the Kentish Town area. As a result:

  • Luton / St Albans / London Blackfriars - Sutton services will run to a revised timetable.
  • Luton - Rainham services will only run between London Bridge and Rainham.

Until 04:30 engineering work will be taking place between Haywards Heath and Brighton. Buses will replace trains between these stations at this time.

From 23:00 at night until 05:25 on Tuesday morning, overnight engineering work will be taking place between Earlswood and Three Bridges. As a result, trains will not be able to stop at Earlswood or Salfords. Buses will run between Redhill and Horley to provide connections for these stations.

From 23:00 at night until 05:50 on Tuesday morning, overnight engineering work will be taking place between Hitchin and Biggleswade. As a result, trains will not be able to stop at Arlesey. Buses will run between Arlesey and Hitchin to provide a connection to train services.
