Engineering work is taking place at various locations on the Great Western Railway network, closing various lines.

Monday to Wednesday 

The 23:27 Cardiff Central to Bristol Temple Meads will depart Patchway and stations beyond 5 minutes later than usual.

Monday to Thursday

Between 19:30 and 06:00 each night, buses will replace trains between Bristol Parkway and Gloucester.

Some trains are diverted between Bristol Parkway and Gloucester via but not calling at Severn Tunnel Junction.

Between 21:30 and 05:20 each night, some trains running to / from London Paddington will be diverted or cancelled between Reading and Bath Spa and will not call at Didcot Parkway, Swindon and Chippenham. Replacement buses will run between Reading and Bath Spa calling at these stations.

Trains between Reading and Gloucester are replaced by buses between Swindon and Kemble with some buses extended to start / terminate at Reading.

Monday and Friday

From 23:00 to 05:30, trains will not call at Pangbourne. Customers should travel via Tilehurst for connecting buses to / from Pangbourne.

Tuesday, Thursday and Friday

The 00:17 Henley-on-Thames to Reading service will terminate at Twyford for rail connections to Reading.

Tuesday to Friday

Between 02:00 and 05:00 each day, buses will replace trains between between Tiverton Parkway and Exeter St Davids.

Some trains are diverted between Castle Cary and Exeter St Davids via but not calling at Yeovil Pen Mill. Also trains between Exeter St Davids and Barnstable are replaced by buses throughout.

The 04:45 Bristol Temple Meads to London Paddington is retimed to depart Bristol Temple Meads at 04:30.

Between 00:01 and 05:15 each morning, trains will not call at Burnham or Taplow. Customers should change at Slough for connecting buses to / from Burnham and Taplow. Customers travelling on the 05:02 Reading to London Paddington should travel on later trains for Taplow or Burnham.


The 22:45 London Paddington to Swansea and the 23:30 London Paddington to Cardiff Central will have their journey times extended by 5 minutes between Severn Tunnel Junction and Newport.
