Engineering work is taking place between Port Talbot Parkway and Swansea, closing all lines.

Great Western Railway:

Saturday and Sunday:

Most services will be amended, and will not run between Port Talbot Parkway and Swansea. Replacement buses will run between Port Talbot Parkway and Swansea. Customers travelling from Swansea will need to travel earlier than usual in order to maintain connections on their journey.

Some London Paddington - Swansea / Carmarthen services will not run, or will be amended to start from / terminate at Bristol Parkway.

On Saturday, the 20:45 London Paddington to Swansea service will terminate at Cardiff Central for a replacement bus from Cardiff Central to Swansea.

Transport for Wales:

On Saturday, buses will replace trains between Port Talbot Parkway and Swansea.

On Sunday, buses will replace trains between Cardiff Central and Swansea.

Project information:

This major upgrade project includes a new signalling system between Cockett Tunnel (west of Swansea Station) and Baglan (west of Port Talbot), as well as upgrading track, power supplies and telecoms equipment. This will increase the resilience, flexibility and reliability of the railway in South Wales.
