COMPLETED - Easter Travel Summary 2021

Major engineering work has taken place during the Easter holiday period and is now complete. Network Rail carry out essential improvement and engineering work across the rail network during this time as far fewer people usually travel by train.

During the Easter holiday period, major engineering work has taken place at the following locations:

COMPLETED - London Liverpool Street – Shenfield: No trains will run between these stations, alternative routes and transport will be available. Work is taking place to improve the reliability of the lines, and on preparing for the introduction of Crossrail services.

COMPLETED - London Euston - Milton Keynes Central: Reduced service. This is due to HS2 works near London Euston and track improvement work between Tring and Milton Keynes.

COMPLETED - London Kings Cross: A reduced timetable will operate. Regular travellers will be aware of the ongoing impact of this major improvement project - more details of the benefits you can expect from The East Coast Upgrade are available here.

COMPLETED - London Waterloo – Windsor / Reading / Twickenham / Richmond: An alternative timetable will be in place. Signalling work is taking place in order to provide a more reliable railway.

Lots of other engineering projects took place across the country, and you can search for the work that by using our Future Engineering Work portal.
