Description

Engineering work is taking place between Midgham and Bedwyn overnight from Monday evening until Friday morning, closing all lines.

Local services:

Monday to Thursday:

  • The 18:59 London Paddington to Newbury will terminate at Reading. A replacement bus will run between Reading and Newbury.
  • The 19:06 London Paddington to Bedwyn will terminate at Newbury. A replacement bus will run between Newbury and Bedwyn.
  • The 19:54 Bedwyn to Newbury service will be extended to run to Reading.
  • The 20:37 Bedwyn to London Paddington service will not run. A replacement bus will run between Bedwyn and Reading, calling at all stations. Rail connections will run between Reading and London Paddington.
  • The 22:21 London Paddington to Bedwyn will terminate at Reading. A replacement bus will run between Reading and Bedwyn.

The following trains will not run, and will be replaced by buses:

  • 20:16 Newbury to Reading.
  • 20:52 Newbury to Bedwyn.
  • 21:11 Reading to Newbury
  • 21:12 Newbury to Reading.
  • 21:18 Bedwyn to Newbury.
  • 21:51 Newbury to Reading.
  • 21:55 Newbury to Bedwyn.
  • 22:07 Reading to Newbury
  • 22:22 Bedwyn to Newbury.
  • 22:42 Newbury to Bedwyn.
  • 22:44 Newbury to Reading.
  • 23:17 Bedwyn to Reading.

Tuesday to Friday:

  • The 00:06 Bedwyn to London Paddington will not run. Customer should use alternative services.
  • The 00:18 Reading to Newbury service will be replaced by a bus throughout.
  • The 05:40 Bedwyn to London Paddington service will start from Newbury at 06:01. Earlier replacement bus transport will run from Bedwyn to Newbury to connect with this train.

Long distance services:

Monday to Thursday:

  • The 16:00 Penzance to London Paddington service will be diverted between Taunton and Reading, and will run later than usual to London.
  • 19:56 Exeter St Davids to London Paddington will be diverted between Westbury and Reading (via Swindon where the train will call additionally at 21:45). It will NOT call Pewsey and Newbury. It will depart Reading 22:15 and arrive London Paddington 22:54. Customers for Pewsey travel by road transport from Swindon arriving Pewsey 23:23. Customers from Pewsey travel by road transport at 21:35 to Swindon to connect into a later train to London Paddington. Newbury customers travel via Reading and road transport between Reading and Newbury.
  • The 20:03 London Paddington to Plymouth will be retimed, departing Newbury at 20:55, Pewsey at 21:15, and then run 16 minutes later than usual.
  • The 21:03 London Paddington to Plymouth will depart 21:22 and will be diverted between Reading and Westbury, via Swindon where the train will call additionally at 22:26. It will NOT call Newbury and Pewsey. Newbury customers travel via Reading and road transport between Reading and Newbury. Customers for Pewsey travel by road transport from Swindon arriving Pewsey 23:23. Customers from Pewsey travel by road transport at 21:35 to Swindon to connect into the diverted train.
