Between Shanklin and Ryde Pier Head

A shortage of trains on the Island Line as a result of extra safety checks being made means that a reduced service is operating between Shanklin and Ryde Pier Head until further notice.

How is this affecting the train service?

An hourly service will operate on the Island Line as follows:

  • Ryde Pier Head towards Shanklin at 49 minutes past the hour
  • Shanklin towards Ryde Pier Head at 18 minutes past the hour

The normal 2 trains per hour timetable will resume as soon as possible, but the age of the trains and the difficulty in sourcing replacement parts, mean this may take longer than normal. It is currently expected to resume for the start of service on Monday 21 October.
