Overnight engineering work is taking place at various locations from 22:20 until 05:05 each night, finishing at 05:05 Friday morning, closing various lines.

The following alterations will apply:

Monday to Thursday

  • The 22:48 London Paddington to Swansea is diverted between Swindon and Bristol Parkway, resulting in extended journey times after Bristol Parkway.
  • The 23:15 London Paddington to Oxford will call additionally at Didcot Parkway.
  • The 23:32 London Paddington to Cardiff Central is diverted between Reading and Bath Spa and will not call at Didcot Parkway, Swindon and Chippenham. Replacement buses will run between Reading and Chippenham, and also between Swindon and Bristol Temple Meads.

Tuesday to Friday 

  • The 04:53 Bristol Temple Meads to London Paddington will start from Bristol Parkway and run via Bristol Temple Meads, then running non-stop to Swindon. 

Wednesday and Thursday

  • The 21:50 London Paddington to Worcester Shrub Hill will additionally call at Didcot Parkway, after which the train will be diverted via Swindon and Cheltenham Spa (not calling) to Worcester Shrub Hill. The train will not call at stations between Didcot Parkway and Worcestershire Parkway. A rail connection from Didcot Parkway at 22:42 can be used for customers to Oxford. A replacement bus will run from Oxford to Worcester Shrub Hill, calling at Hanborough, Charlbury, Shipton, Kingham, Moreton-in-Marsh, Honeybourne, Evesham, Pershore and Worcestershire Parkway.
  • The 22:00 Hereford to London Paddington is replaced by a bus between Worcester Shrub Hill and Oxford. Customers should change at Oxford for onward rail connections.
  • The 22:50 London Paddington to Worcestershire Parkway is replaced by a bus between Moreton-in-Marsh and Worcestershire Parkway.
