Great Western Railway between London Paddington and Swansea / Carmarthen

Engineering work is taking place between Swansea and Gowerton on Saturday, and between Bridgend and Llanelli on Sunday, closing all lines.

Great Western Railway:


The 07:21 Carmarthen to London Paddington service will start from Swansea, and the 17:17 London Paddington to Carmarthen service will terminate at Swansea.

Customers should use Transport for Wales services between Swansea and Carmarthen.


An amended timetable will run for all Great Western Railway services between Cardiff Central and Swansea, with trains running to a reduced frequency.

Replacement buses will run between Cardiff Central and Swansea (both fast and stopping buses).

No Great Western Railway services will run to / from Carmarthen. Customers should use Transport for Wales services between Swansea and Carmarthen.

Transport for Wales:

Buses replace trains between Swansea / Llanelli and Carmarthen.

On Sunday, services that run to / from Manchester Piccadilly will be replaced by buses between Bridgend and Swansea.
