Description

Storm Ciara, which bought 90mph winds, extreme rainfall, and flooding across Wales on Sunday 9 February, has caused extensive damage on the Conwy Valley Line, north of Llanrwst.

Network Rail engineers inspecting the line have identified several sites where the ballast supporting the track has been washed away by floodwater. The storm has also damaged fencing and level crossings at several locations.

How is this affecting the train service?

A rail replacement bus service will operate between Llandudno Junction and Blaenau Ffestiniog until further notice. A bus timetable can be viewed here.
