Engineering work is taking place in the Wakefield Westgate area, closing all lines.


Trains will be diverted, not calling at Wakefield Westgate. Replacement buses will replace trains between Sheffield and Wakefield Westgate, and also between Wakefield Westgate and Leeds. 

East Midlands Railway:

East Midlands Railway will run an operate an amended timetable, Trains may be diverted and will not call at Wakefield Westgate. Customers wish to travel to / from Wakefield Westgate should use services provided by other train companies.


A reduced train service will run to / from Leeds, with trains being diverted between Leeds and Doncaster and not calling at Wakefield Westgate. A replacement bus service will run between Wakefield Westgate and Doncaster.


Trains between Leeds and Knottingley via Wakefield will be diverted via Castleford and will not call at Wakefield Westgate, Wakefield Kirkgate, Streethouse, Featherstone and Pontefract Tanshelf. Buses will run between Leeds and Knottingley.

Trains between Leeds and Sheffield will start / terminate at Wakefield Westgate.

Until 16:00 trains running between Leeds and Doncaster will start / terminate at Wakefield Westgate.

Buses will be in operation between all day between Leeds and Doncaster.
