Train operating companies are continuing to run services in line with government advice and guidelines, and in order to meet current levels of demand and to help with social distancing on board.

Details of the timetables, and safe travel advice from each operator, is available via the Train Operating Company links towards the bottom of this page.

If you are travelling by train, you can travel with confidence. As part of the industry's safer travel pledge, rail companies are doing extra cleaning and providing more service information.

Social distancing guidelines mean there will be reduced capacity on board trains. Please follow the advice given by your train operator regarding planning your journey. You also need to follow the latest advice from government and public health officials, and this includes local lockdown rules.

Please also follow the recommended guidance before you set off:

  • Plan ahead and consider travelling at quieter times
  • Carry hand sanitiser and wash your hands before and after travelling
  • Follow social distancing guidance at stations, on platforms and on trains
  • Do not travel if you or anyone in your household are showing symptoms of Covid-19

If you do travel, you must wear a face covering (unless you are exempt).
