TOC(s) affected

Merseyrail, along with the rest of the rail industry, are working to support efforts to minimise the spread of coronavirus and to keep services running for necessary travel.

Please follow the latest advice from government and public health officials and please continue to keep services clear for those who need them the most.

If it is necessary for you to travel by National Rail, you must wear a face covering (unless you are exempt), try to travel off-peak, keep a 2-metre distance from others, and carry hand sanitiser or wash your hands.

How is this affecting the train service?

Merseyrail are currently operating an amended service to support necessary journeys only. However, changes have been made to the previous reduced timetable with additional services now running across the Merseyrail network. These changes to services have been put in place to support the expected increase in passenger numbers, as more people begin to make necessary journeys across the Liverpool City Region. Details of the train service changes can be found here.
