Description

Northern, along with the rest of the rail industry, are working to support efforts to minimise the spread of coronavirus and to keep services running for necessary travel.

Please follow the latest advice from government and public health officials and please continue to keep services clear for those who need them the most.

If it is necessary for you to travel by National Rail, you must wear a face covering (unless you are exempt), try to travel off-peak, keep a 2-metre distance from others, and carry hand sanitiser or wash your hands.

How is this affecting the train service?

Northern are operating a reduced timetable to ensure that vital train services for key workers can keep running throughout a prolonged coronavirus outbreak.

The revised timetable can be found here.

Where can I find more information?

Northern have a dedicated Coronavirus updates page - you can find the latest information and advice here.

More information, including a Q&A and refund details can be found on the NRE Coronavirus page.

You can check your journey up to and including Sunday 6 September using the National Rail Enquiries real-time Journey Planner. This is subject to engineering work taking place.
