TransPennine Express;

TransPennine Express, along with the rest of the rail industry, are working to support efforts to minimise the spread of coronavirus and to keep services running for necessary travel.

Please follow the latest advice from government and public health officials and please continue to keep services clear for those who need them the most.

If it is necessary for you to travel by National Rail, you must wear a face covering (unless you are exempt), try to travel off-peak, keep a 2-metre distance from others, and carry hand sanitiser or wash your hands.

How is this affecting the Transpennine Express train service?

Due to the current situation regarding the COVID 19 pandemic, amended timetables are in operation across all TransPennine Express routes. The revised timetable and further details can be found here.

You can check your journey on TransPennine Express services up to and including Friday 17 July using the National Rail Enquiries real-time Journey Planner. If you are travelling from Saturday 18 July onwards, please check back nearer the time.

What advice and information is available on crowding and social distancing?

To comply with social distancing rules, TransPennine Express have introduced green and red labels on their trains to indicate where you can and cannot sit. Although seat reservations are currently unavailable (even with the still-available Advance tickets), you can achieve social distancing by finding a seat with a green label on it.

But please note it will not be possible to socially distance at all points throughout a journey so please keep your distance wherever possible
