South Western Railway, along with the rest of the rail industry, is working to support efforts to minimise the spread of coronavirus and to keep services running for necessary travel.

Please follow the latest advice from government and public health officials and please continue to keep services clear for those who need them the most.

If it is necessary for you to travel by National Rail, you must wear a face covering (unless you are exempt), try to travel off-peak, keep a 2-metre distance from others, and carry hand sanitiser or wash your hands.

How is this affecting the train service?

South Western Railway are operating an amended timetable from 29 June - 3 July and further timetable amendments will take affect from 6 July until further notice. Details of the timetables can be found here

Please be aware that the Wightlink ferries between Portsmouth Harbour and Ryde Pier Head and also between Lymington Pier and Yarmouth have been suspended until further notice. More details can be found here.

How busy will my train be?

Planning your journey is especially important during the coronavirus pandemic. In order to maintain social distancing on trains and at stations, we are asking our customers to travel at quieter times where possible.

If you are travelling with South Western Railway, you can check your journey up to and including Friday 17 July June using the National Rail Enquiries real-time Journey Planner. If you are travelling from Saturday 18 July onwards, please check back nearer the time.
