South Western Railway;

South Western Railway are continuing to operate a reduced timetable, although train capacity has now been increased to help you maintain social distancing. Further train services have been reintroduced, increasing capacity at busy times on weekday services. A near normal service will be operating on weekends.

You can find the latest timetables, which will run until Friday 11 December, here.

Please continue to follow the latest advice from government and public health officials. If you do travel by National Rail, please consider travelling at quieter times, carry hand sanitiser and follow social distancing guidelines. You must also wear a face covering, unless you are exempt.

What can I do to travel safely?

Planning your journey is especially important during the coronavirus pandemic. In order to maintain social distancing on trains and at stations, we are asking our customers to travel at quieter times where possible. You can use this guide to find out which stations and services tend to be the busiest so you can plan your journey accordingly.

You are encouraged to buy your ticket online in advance and if you do need to buy a ticket at a station, please use contactless payments - all ticket offices and most ticket machines are not currently accepting cash.

Please allow more time for your journey as queuing systems may be in place and please follow advice from on board and station staff. Floor markings and stickers around stations and on board trains will help you to travel socially distant.

Where can I find more information and advice?
