Following the Government decision to impose a national lockdown on 4 January 2021 and a national "Do Not Travel" recommendation, Grand Central have taken the decision to suspend their services until the end of Sunday 28 February. You can find more information here.

Customer advice:

Customers making essential journeys per Government guidelines with tickets for Grand Central trains that are no longer operating may choose any of the following options:

  • Utilise alternative LNER services to complete your journey, using your original Grand Central ticket. Please note, customers must make a seat reservation with LNER before travelling.
  • Amend your date of travel with no admin fee. You will need to contact the Grand Central Bookings Support team on 0345 603 4852 (option 4), who will be happy to help.
  • Decide not to travel and seek a refund from your original point of purchase.


Check before you travel:

Grand Central trains have been removed from the Journey Planner until Sunday 28 February.

You can check your Grand Central journey from Monday 1 March until Friday 23 April using the National Rail Enquiries real-time Journey Planner.

For travel from Saturday 24 April, please check closer to the time of travel as timetables have not yet been finalised.
