Avanti West Coast - Revised timetable and social distancing advice

Avanti West Coast are temporarily operating a reduced timetable for those where travel is necessary. The amended timetable can be found here.

Please follow the latest advice from government and public health officials and please continue to keep services clear for those who need them the most.

If it is necessary for you to travel by National Rail, you must wear a face covering (unless you are exempt), try to travel off-peak, keep a 2-metre distance from others, and carry hand sanitiser or wash your hands.

What advice and information is available on crowding and social distancing?

To help keep you safe when you travel and to support social distancing, Avanti West Coast have reduced the number of available seats onboard their trains. Therefore, you are strongly advised to book a place on the train prior to travelling.

Bookings can be made up to 5 minutes before the scheduled departure on the Avanti West Coast website and app.

Some stations may also operate with a queuing system to ensure social distancing remains in place during peak times.

Currently, peak travel times are between 09:30 and 13:00 and between 16:00 and 18:00 - you are encouraged to travel outside of these times.
