Great Western Railway between London Paddington and Bristol Temple Meads; between Severn Beach / Avonmouth and Bristol Temple Meads; between Great Malvern and Brighton; between Exeter St Davids and Bristol Temple Meads; between Penzance / Taunton / Portsmouth Harbour and Cardiff Central; between Cheltenham Spa / Filton Abbey Wood and Weston-super-Mare and also between Weymouth / Westbury and Bristol Parkway

Description

Engineering work is taking place between Lawrence Hill and Bristol Temple Meads station, closing some lines.

Due to these works a reduced service will operate to / from Bristol Temple Meads.

Saturday

CrossCountry:

Trains will divert via an alternative route with journey times extended by a few minutes.

Great Western Railway:

Cardiff Central - Portsmouth Harbour - After 09:00, most trains will depart Cardiff Central and Newport a few minutes earlier than normal and will call additionally at Bristol Parkway, trains will then divert via Bath Spa, not calling at Bristol Temple Meads.

Cardiff Central - Taunton - An hourly trains service will operate between Bristol Temple Meads and Taunton.

Bristol Parkway - Bristol Temple Meads - From 09:30 a special hourly shuttle service will operate calling at Filton Abbey Wood only. It will use an alternative route between Lawrence Hill and Bristol Temple Meads.

From 08:45 a replacement bus service will operate hourly between Bristol Temple Meads, Lawrence Hill, Stapleton Road, Filton Abbey Wood and Bristol Parkway.

Bristol Parkway - Weston Super Mare - Most trains will start / terminate at Bristol Temple Meads.

Bristol Temple Meads - Avonmouth / Severn Beach - After 09:00, a special hourly service will operate between Lawrence Hill, Stapleton Road and Severn Beach calling at all stations.

A replacement bus service will operate for connections between Bristol Temple Meads and Stapleton Road. You should interchange between road and rail at Stapleton Road.

Last trains of the day each way will terminate / start Avonmouth.

London Paddington - Bristol Temple Meads - Most trains will run normally, but the 19:02 and 20:02 trains will terminate at Bath Spa.

Great Malvern / Worcester Shrub Hill / Gloucester - Westbury / Weymouth / Southampton Central - Trains will divert and not call at Bristol Temple Meads.

A train service will run between Bristol Temple Meads and Westbury / Weymouth.

South Western Railway:

Sunday only:

Salisbury to Bristol Temple Meads services will run between Salisbury and Bath Spa only. 

Rail replacement buses will then run between Bath Spa and Bristol Temple Meads in both directions.

Sunday

Cardiff Central - Portsmouth Harbour - After 09:00, most trains will depart Cardiff Central and Newport a few minutes earlier than normal and will call additionally at Bristol Parkway, trains will then divert via Bath Spa, not calling at Bristol Temple Meads.

Bristol Temple Meads - Weymouth - Most trains will run between Westbury and Weymouth.

Replacement buses operated by Great Western will operate between:

Bristol Temple Meads-Bath Spa (3 buses per hour) taking 40 minutes.

Bristol Temple Meads-Bath Spa (Hourly), calling Keynsham (Church), Oldfield Park (Lower Bristol Road) and Bath Spa. At Keynsham and Oldfield Park,  most buses from Bristol Temple Meads will stop to disembark only; buses from Bath Spa will stop to pick up only.

Last bus from Bristol Temple Meads to Bath Spa will extend to Bradford-on-Avon, Trowbridge and Westbury.

London Paddington - Bristol Temple Meads - Trains will start / terminate at Bath Spa. A replacement bus service will run between Bath Spa and Bristol Temple Meads.

Bristol Temple Meads - Avonmouth / Severn Beach - Most trains will run as planned, some will operate to amended timings.

South Western Railway:

Salisbury to Bristol Temple Meads services will run between Salisbury and Bath Spa only. 

Rail replacement buses operated by Great Western will then run between Bath Spa and Bristol Temple Meads in both directions.
