Description

Engineering work is taking place between Newcastle and Berwick upon Tweed, resulting in the closure of some lines.

CrossCountry

On Saturday and until 09:00 on Sunday, road transport will be in operation between Newcastle and Edinburgh, calling at all stations.

LNER:

On Saturday, an hourly service will run to / from Scotland via Carlisle, with journey times extended by up to 2 hours.

Other services to / from Scotland will be amended to run to / from Newcastle, or will be cancelled. Services to / from Lincoln / Hull will not run, and services to / from Harrogate will run to / from Leeds instead.

Replacement buses will run between Newcastle and Edinburgh via Berwick-upon-Tweed.

On Sunday, before 09:55 services from Newcastle will be cancelled, or will start from York.

Sunday services to / from Harrogate will be amended to run to / from Leeds instead.

The first trains to run on Sunday will be:

  • The 08:30 Leeds to Edinburgh service.
  • The 09:56 Newcastle to London Kings Cross service.

 

Northern:

Services on Saturday are not affected by this engineering work.

On Sunday, the 08:30 Newcastle to Morpeth service will be replaced by a bus. The 09:03 Morpeth to Metro Centre service will start from Newcastle, with a replacement bus running from Morpeth to Newcastle.

TransPennine Express

On Saturday, no TransPennine Express services will run between Newcastle and Edinburgh.

Customers can use their tickets on LNER train / bus services between Newcastle and Edinburgh.
