Grand Central between London Kings Cross and Sunderland

Engineering work is taking place between Northallerton and Sunderland, resulting in the closure of some lines.

Grand Central

The following trains will be diverted between Northallerton and Sunderland:


  • 11:27 / 13:18 / 16:48 / 19:27 London Kings Cross to Sunderland.
  • 06:43 / 08:28 / 12:18 / 15:29 Sunderland to London Kings Cross.



  • 13:48 / 16:53 / 18:22 London Kings Cross to Sunderland.
  • 09:23 / 12:12 / 14:12 / 18:12 Sunderland to London Kings Cross.


Buses will replace trains between Northallerton and Hartlepool, also calling at Eaglescliffe.

TransPennine Express

On Saturday, Sunday and Monday, no trains will run between Northallerton and Redcar Central. Trains that usually run to / from Redcar Central will be amended to run to / from Darlington. 

Replacement buses will run between Northallerton and Redcar Central via Yarm, Thornaby and Middlesbrough.
