Description

The Bittern Ranger offers one day's unlimited travel on Greater Anglia's Bittern line, which runs through the northern part of the Norfolk Broads between Norwich, Hoveton & Wroxham and North Walsham to the coastal towns of Cromer and Sheringham.

The Bittern Ranger is also valid, on payment of a small supplement, on the Coasthopper buses nos. CH4 and CH5 between Mundesley, Cromer, Sheringham and Wells-next-the-Sea and the Coastliner bus no. 36 between Wells and Hunstanton, but not on any other sections of these routes.

Tickets are valid from 08.15 on Mondays to Fridays and at any time on Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays.

Purchase Location

Station ticket offices, some travel agents, Greater Anglia (and selected other train company) telesales, on board the Norwich to Cromer/Sheringham train if boarding at an unstaffed station.

Unaccompanied children pay half-fare.

Accompanied children are charged £2.00.

Railcards

All national Railcards (except the Jobcentre Plus Card) give their usual discount.

GA Club 50 Railcards give 10% discount.

Annual Gold Cards give 1/3 discount.

Family and Senior versions are available without a Railcard being required.

Refunds

For tickets purchased until 31 March 2026:

Refunds are available if the ticket is surrendered before the date on the ticket. An administration fee may be deducted.

For tickets purchased from 1 April 2026:

Refundable until 23:59 the day before the ticket becomes valid for travel.

Not refundable once the ticket has become valid for travel unless Condition 30 of the National Rail Conditions of Travel (failure of train service) applies.

In exceptional circumstances a refund may be considered on unused or part-used tickets that have become valid for travel. In such cases an application must be made to the retailer within 28 days of the expiry date of the ticket and should include the reason for non-use. Additional evidence may be requested, refunds will be on a discretionary basis, and any use made of the ticket may mean that in some circumstances no refund will be due.

Refunds are only available from the retailer that sold the tickets.

An administration fee (up to a maximum of £5 per ticket) may be applied.
