The following terms and conditions apply to this type of ticket. Please note that some tickets have restrictions on the days or times you can travel. Please check before you travel.

Description

FRIENDS AND FAMILY TICKETS ARE OPEN RETURN, VALID FOR RETURN TRAVEL UP TO ONE MONTH FROM DATE OF OUTBOUND TRAVEL USING ONLY ONE PIN CODE.

  • £6 Open Return tickets for travel on the ScotRail network.

  • Special child fare of £3 return for those aged 5 - 15

  • One ticket/pin code is valid for up to a maximum of 4 passengers per employee/spouse/partner.

  • 18 pin codes per employee per year, renewed at the beginning of August each year.

General Conditions

  • Valid on ScotRail services only.

  • Monday to Friday, you can travel anytime except on services departing before 09:16.

  • Valid on any service on Saturdays and Sundays

  • Valid for travel in Standard Class only

  • The ScotRail employee or ScotRail employee’s spouse or partner no longer needs to travel with offer ticket holders as their Friends and Family ticket holds the name of the employee who booked the ticket.

  • Should there be any instance or misuse of tickets, ticket examiners/conductors/gateline staff should complete a TI report – including the name of the employee as it is written on the ticket and details of this should be passed to HR Administration.

  • Tickets cannot be sold by employee for higher than face value.

  • The employee is responsible for purchase and must ensure passes are not misused. Any abuse of this benefit through either selling tickets for profit or misuse of tickets could lead to potential disciplinary action and/or this benefit being withdrawn from the employee.

  • Certain dates of high demand may be excluded from travel without prior notification.

  • At all times, staff and those travelling with them on SCR Friends and Family offer tickets should vacate their seats for customers who are standing.
