A 26-30 Railcard costs £30 and it'll save you 1/3 on rail fares throughout Great Britain for a whole year, including all Standard and First Class Advance fares. Take a look at all the ticket types you can make savings on.

You are eligible if you're aged between 26-30 and have a smart mobile device. Please see our eligibility criteria for more information.

There are plenty of ways you can use your Railcard, for both long and short trips. Better still you can use it anytime on weekends, public holidays and during the week. The only restriction is that if you travel between 04:30 and 09:59 Monday to Friday, a minimum fare of £12.00 will apply. See minimum fares for more details.

General conditions of use of the Railcard 

Your 26-30 Railcard is only valid when uploaded to the Railcard app on a mobile device. 

The Railcard does not become your property and can be removed from your mobile device. 

The Railcard and tickets bought with it are not transferable to anyone else and you must not give, lend, or resell them. Only the named cardholder can use the Railcard. 

Train Companies will not issue refunds on unused/unwanted Railcards, or extend their validity period. 

You may be asked to show your Railcard when purchasing discounted tickets . 

Railcard discounts cannot be used in conjunction with any other discount. 

You must buy the tickets before boarding the train unless: 

  • there was no ticket office at the station at which you began the journey or if the ticket office was closed, and there was no working ticket machine from which you could buy discounted tickets; or 

  • you have a disability which prevented you accessing ticket retailing facilities. 

In these cases you will be able to use your Railcard to buy tickets on the train or at your destination. 

You must be able to show your valid Railcard on a mobile device throughout your journey. When asked by rail staff, you must show a valid ticket and your valid Railcard. 

If you fail to comply the Train Company reserves the right to charge you the full price for an Anytime single fare for your journey, as if no ticket had been purchased before starting the journey. In some cases you may also be issued with a Penalty Fare.
