The Devon & Cornwall Railcard offers residents of Devon and Cornwall one-third off all Standard Class Anytime and Off-Peak train tickets across Devon and Cornwall.

One accompanying adult also receives one-third off their ticket and you can take up to four accompanying children (aged 5-15) for a flat fare of £1 each (£2 for Day Ranger tickets). (From 7th September 2025 the child flat fare will increase to £2 each. The child flat fare for Day Ranger tickets will increase to £4 per child.)

How to apply for your Railcard

Devon & Cornwall Railcards can be bought from staffed station ticket offices within Devon and Cornwall

Digital Devon & Cornwall Railcards can be bought online from railcards.gwr.com/

Proof of residency of Devon or Cornwall will be needed such as a utility bill, council tax bill, driving license or bank / credit card statement

Booking Conditions

Not valid on:

  • Tickets that extend outside Devon and Cornwall

  • Season tickets

  • Advance tickets

  • First Class tickets, although you can upgrade a discounted Standard ticket at weekends by paying the normal weekend upgrade charge

  • In conjunction with any other special promotion, unless specifically advertised

  • On any special excursion train

  • On bus services

It is valid for journeys not starting before 08:45*

*It is also valid on the following trains:

  • On all services on the St Ives branch line

  • On all services between Exeter and Barnstaple, on a train going to Barnstaple

  • On all services between Exeter and Okehampton, on a train going to Okehampton

  • 08:35 from Barnstaple and 08:43 from Umberleigh, towards Exeter

  • 08:28 Plymouth to Gunnislake (any journey on this train)

  • 08:30 from Newton Abbot and 08:42 from Totnes, on the service towards Plymouth

  • 08:38 from Newton Abbot towards Paignton

From 7th September these services will also become valid:

  • 08:09 service from Plymouth to Penzance (valid from Plymouth and all stations west of Plymouth)

  • 08:16 service from Liskeard to Looe (any journey on this train)

Discounted tickets can be used for travel on Great Western Railway, South Western Railway and CrossCountry services.
