Issuing conditions of pre-purchased extension tickets

Tickets pre-purchased for use with a VCTS Pass are issued subject to National Rail Conditions of Travel and to specific conditions in Excess tickets (see Excess fares section). They are valid only in Standard accommodation; if used in First Class, the full First Class fare will be payable as if no ticket were held.

Pre-purchased extension tickets may only be issued and used with a valid VCTS Pass which must be presented at each ticket examination, otherwise Penalty Fares rules apply within designated Penalty Fares areas.

Pre-purchased extension tickets are not transferable and may be used only for travel by the person named on the VCTS Pass. Misuse could result in the ticket user and person to whom the VCTS Pass has been issued liable to prosecution.
