Special season tickets exclusively available for students available in the Worthing area. 

From 1st September 2026, Unizone tickets will also be available for children under the age of 16 who are attending a further education college or sixth form college.

Terms & Conditions

For under 16s only:

All you will need is a Child Key Smartcard as ID to buy your ticket and when you are travelling.

Please note: there is no Child rate Unizone ticket.

For over 16s:

You’ll need two forms of ID

The first form of ID must be one of these:

Please note: holders of a 26-30 Railcard are not eligible for a Unizone ticket.

The second form of ID can be either:

A valid physical student ID card (not digital or PRO versions) :

  • University of Sussex

  • University of Chichester

  • Plumpton College

  • BHASVIC

  • Varndean College, Hove Park Sixth Form, Dv8 Sussex, Newman College: You must have a new-style ID card with a photo and expiry date. If you don’t, a valid TOTUM physical card is required.

  • Brighton Aldridge Community Academy (BACA College): Requires an ID card with a photo and expiry date. If missing, you’ll need a valid TOTUM physical card.

  • Chichester College

  • Worthing College

  • Northbrook College

  • Brighton Metropolitan College

  • St Philip Howard Sixth Form

Or:

A physical TOTUM card.

We can't accept your ID card or TOTUM card if it has expired or doesn't have an expiry date.

Please note, we can’t issue a Unizone ticket with an expiry date after the expiry date of Child Key Smartcard, Railcard, ID card or TOTUM card.

Restrictions: 

  • You can't buy a Unizone ticket at Ticket Vending Machines or on the train.

  • Please ensure you have your identity card, and Railcard/Saver or Child Key Smartcard on every journey, to validate the Season Ticket

  • The NUS extra / TOTUM digital card (phone App) CANNOT be used as ID to obtain the Unizone ticket.

  • Staff university identity cards are NOT valid for purchasing Unizone tickets

    You can buy your Worthing Unizone Season ticket from any Ticket Office at the stations listed.

    If you also need the Brighton Unizone Season ticket to cover your journey Unizone Brighton | National Rail, you can buy both zones from any Ticket Office in either the Worthing or Brighton Unizone areas. 

    They're not available to buy on trains or at self-service ticket machines.

    Please note: whilst under 16s can buy a Unizone ticket, this will be at the rates shown above and there is no Child rate discount.
