The Severn Valley Railway is a glorious 16 mile steam and diesel railway which travels between Kidderminster and Bridgnorth. The line is within sight of the River Severn for most of the journey and passes through beautiful countryside and the Georgian town of Bewdley along the way.

  • The Severn Valley Railway (SVR) will run daily from 4 April - 27 September 2020. The SVR also operates during all school holidays and weekends until 22 November 2020.
  • From 28 November through December 2020 add-on/admission tickets are not available due to special Christmas themed events.
  • The railway is then closed throughout January 2021 for engineering works and re-opens again for February half term 2021.

Buying your tickets

Available from any staffed West Midlands Trains station, except Kidderminster, if a National Rail ticket to Kidderminster is being purchased. Also available on the train when joining from an unmanned station. The separate add on/Admission Only ticket can be be purchased from any train operator if customer holds, or is purchasing, a travel ticket to Kidderminster.

Booking conditions

These prices are exclusive of rail travel to Kidderminster and are not valid for first class travel on the Severn Valley Railway. Normal refund rules apply as per the National Rail Conditions of Travel.
