Sunday 5 April

Changes to services between London Paddington and Heathrow Airport / Reading

Due to engineering work in the London Paddington area, the following service changes will be made:

Before 07:40:

No trains will run between London Paddington and Ealing Broadway.

If you have a National Rail paper ticket or e-ticket, you can use your ticket at no extra cost on London Underground and London Buses between London Paddington and Ealing Broadway. If you are using contactless payment / Oyster card, you can also use the above alternative travel options but you will be required to pay the normal tap in / tap out fares for your journey.

From 07:40 until end of service:

The following train service will operate:

  • Abbey Wood - Maidenhead: services will start / terminate at London Paddington low level and will not run to and from Maidenhead

  • Abbey Wood - Heathrow T4: services will be reduced to 2 trains per hour

  • Shenfield - Heathrow T5: services will operate

  • Abbey Wood - Reading: services will operate and will call additionally at Iver

  • Acton Main Line, Hanwell and West Ealing stations will have no Elizabeth line service

Monday 6 April - Easter Monday

Late night changes to services between London Paddington and Heathrow Airport / Maidenhead

Due to late night engineering work in the London Paddington area, from 22:00 until the end of service the following service changes will be made:

  • Abbey Wood - Maidenhead: services will start / terminate at London Paddington low level and will not run to and from Maidenhead

  • Abbey Wood - Heathrow T4: services will be reduced to 2 trains per hour

  • Acton Main Line, Hanwell and West Ealing stations will have no Elizabeth line service after 23:00. If you have a National Rail paper ticket or e-ticket, you can use your ticket at no extra cost on London Buses to complete your journey. If you are using contactless payment / Oyster card, you can also use the above alternative travel options but you will be required to pay the normal tap in / tap out fares for your journey.

No changes to Elizabeth line services have been announced.

Sunday 3 May

Before 07:40: No trains between London Paddington and Ealing Broadway

Due to early morning engineering work in the London Paddington area, no trains will run between London Paddington and Ealing Broadway in either direction until approximately 07:40.

If you have a National Rail paper ticket or e-ticket, you can use your ticket at no extra cost on London Underground and London Buses between London Paddington and Ealing Broadway. If you are using contactless payment / Oyster card, you can also use the above alternative travel options but you will be required to pay the normal tap in / tap out fares for your journey.

Elizabeth line trains will still be running between Heathrow Airport / Reading and Ealing Broadway.

Before 10:30: No trains between Shenfield and Stratford (London)

Due to early morning engineering work on Sunday, no Elizabeth line trains will run between Shenfield and Stratford (London) in either direction until approximately 10:30.

Before 10:30, rail replacement buses will run between:

  • Shenfield and Newbury Park (London Underground station) via Romford / Chadwell Heath

  • Romford and Stratford (London)

If you have a National Rail paper ticket or e-ticket, you can use your ticket at no extra cost on the following operators’ services:

  • London Underground Central line services between Newbury Park and Liverpool Street

  • London Underground Central line services between Stratford (London) and Liverpool Street

If you are using contactless payment / Oyster card, you can also use the above alternative travel options but you will be required to pay the normal tap in / tap out fares for your journey.

Monday 4 May - Early May Bank Holiday

After 22:00: Reduced service between Reading / Heathrow Airport and London Paddington

Due to late night engineering work, the following service changes will be made after 22:00:

  • Abbey Wood - Heathrow Terminal 4 services will be reduced to 2 trains per hour

  • Abbey Wood - Maidenhead services will terminate at London Paddington instead of Maidenhead


As a result of this, the following reduced service will apply:

  • A reduced service of 6 trains per hour will call at Hayes & Harlington, Southall and Ealing Broadway

  • A reduced service of 4 trains per hour will call at Heathrow Terminal 2 & 3

  • A reduced service of 2 trains per hour will call at Heathrow Terminal 4, Maidenhead, Burnham, Slough, Langley and West Drayton

  • After 23:00, no trains will call at Acton Main Line, West Ealing or Hanwell
