Saturday 23 August

Early morning change at Hornsey and Harringay

Until 05:15 on Saturday morning, due to early morning engineering work, no trains will call at Hornsey or Harringay. You can use your paper ticket at no extra cost on London Buses to and from Harringay or Hornsey to complete your journey.

Major changes start on Saturday night on services to and from London Kings Cross

After 22:00 on Saturday night, due to engineering work closing the lines between Potters Bar and Peterborough, and between Potters Bar and Royston, a significantly amended service will be in operation on the routes to and from London Kings Cross. Your journey may involve a replacement bus.

After 22:00 a revised Great Northern and Thameslink train service will run between:

  • London Kings Cross and Potters Bar

  • Moorgate and Hertford North

  • Royston and Cambridge / Ely / Kings Lynn

  • Horsham / Brighton and Finsbury Park

After 22:00 replacement buses will run between:

  • Potters Bar and Hitchin

  • Hitchin and Peterborough

  • Hitchin and Royston

  • Hertford North and Stevenage

You can also use buses that will be provided to take you to stations on other lines, where you can get alternative trains to and from London (please check in the planner that late night journeys are possible):

  • Hitchin and St Albans City (via Hatfield)

  • Stevenage and Luton Airport Parkway (via Hitchin)

  • Peterborough and Bedford (via St Neots)

After 21:00 if you're travelling between London and Cambridge, as an alternative you can use your ticket on London Underground services between Kings Cross St Pancras and either London Liverpool Street or Tottenham Hale, or on Elizabeth line trains between Farringdon and London Liverpool Street, and then use Greater Anglia trains between London Liverpool Street and Cambridge / Cambridge North.

Sunday 24 August

Major changes all day to services to and from London Kings Cross

Due to engineering work closing the lines all day between Potters Bar and Peterborough, and between Potters Bar and Royston, a significantly amended service will be in operation on the routes to and from London Kings Cross. Your journey may involve a replacement bus.

A revised Great Northern and Thameslink train service will run between:

  • London Kings Cross and Potters Bar

  • London Kings Cross and Hertford North (see Moorgate line information below)

  • Royston and Cambridge / Ely / Kings Lynn

  • Horsham / Brighton and Finsbury Park

Replacement buses will run between:

  • Potters Bar and Hitchin

  • Hitchin and Peterborough

  • Hitchin and Royston

  • Hertford North and Stevenage

You can also use buses that will be provided to take you to stations on other lines, where you can get alternative trains to and from London:

  • Hitchin and St Albans City (via Hatfield)

No trains between Moorgate and Finsbury Park

Due to engineering work closing the lines between Moorgate and Finsbury Park, trains that usually run to and from Moorgate will instead run to and from London Kings Cross. You can use paper tickets at no extra cost on London Underground services between Kings Cross St Pancras and Moorgate, and on London Buses between Moorgate and Drayton Park.

Early morning change at Hornsey and Harringay

Until 08:20 on Sunday morning, due to early morning engineering work, southbound trains (towards London) will not call at Hornsey or Harringay. You can use your paper ticket at no extra cost on London Buses to and from Harringay or Hornsey to complete your journey.


Monday 25 August - Bank Holiday Monday

Major changes early Monday morning on services to and from London Kings Cross

Before 08:00 on Monday morning, due to engineering work closing the lines between Potters Bar and Peterborough, and between Potters Bar and Royston, a significantly amended service will be in operation on the routes to and from London Kings Cross. Your journey may involve a replacement bus.

Until 08:00 a revised Great Northern and Thameslink train service will run between:

  • London Kings Cross and Potters Bar

  • Moorgate and Hertford North

  • Royston and Cambridge / Ely / Kings Lynn

  • Horsham / Brighton and Finsbury Park

Until 08:00 replacement buses will run between:

  • Potters Bar and Hitchin

  • Hitchin and Peterborough

  • Hitchin and Royston

  • Hertford North and Stevenage

Late night changes between Alexandra Palace and Stevenage

From approximately 23:55 on Monday night, buses will replace trains between Alexandra Palace and Stevenage via Welwyn Garden City. Additionally, trains between London and Peterborough / Cambridge will divert via Hertford North (not calling), extending journey times.
