What to do in Ipswich

With a rich heritage and proud history, Ipswich is deemed to be England’s oldest town. Beautiful historic buildings full of stories, green spaces and waterfront views grant you a quick escape from the hustle and bustle of city life while also making it very easy to travel back to reality once you’ve had your fill.

Getting around by foot is easy and rewarding when you’re surrounded by history and nature. The town centre is a short walk from the station and has a number of Tudor buildings with some of them housing a mix of high street stores, independent boutiques and places to eat.

Christchurch Park is a beautiful open green space showcasing different forms of seasonal beauty all year round. There are plenty of spaces to relax in, a play area for kids, wildlife and a cafe serving hot beverages and food.

Within the park sits Christchurch Mansion, a beautiful Tudor building over 500 years old. Lose yourself in the past as you explore the period rooms including the Tudor kitchen, and peruse a collection of fine art and paintings from Suffolk artists over the years.
