What to do in Oxford
Known for the prestigious Oxford University, this beautiful town is home to many great minds. Only a short shot by train from London, with an almost equidistant time from Birmingham, the town has a lot to offer by way of history, culture and picturesque scenes of the past frozen in time.
Oxford’s pedestrian-friendly streets make it easy to get around on foot, which is the best way to enjoy the town. Its buildings and monuments are a mix of every style of English architecture from early Medieval times, many of which house a number of museums worth exploring. Pitt Rivers Museum is one of many museums in the town possessing an impressive collection of curiosities from around the world, from Japanese Noh theatre masks to shrunken heads.
There are beautiful gardens and green spaces around the town to wander through and relax in. Christ Church Meadow is a historical two-mile walk with many of Oxford’s greats having walked the same path through the meadows and along the river banks.
