What to do in Twickenham
Home to English Rugby Union and Twickenham Stadium, you’ll often see an influx of rugby fans travelling to the town on match days.
Sat by the river Thames with plenty of surrounding green spaces, when there isn’t a match on Twickenham offers a respite from the hustle and bustle of London life, while still being a part of the city. Rugby enthusiasts can still enjoy the stadium when visiting the World Rugby Museum while those who are after a slower-paced visit can wander the town and experience the scenic and tranquil atmosphere.
Rugby lovers will enjoy visiting the World Rugby Museum located within the infamous stadium itself. Visitors can learn about the sport’s history and heritage through a collection of memorabilia collected from around the world.
Not much of a rugby fan? Strawberry Hill House is a beautiful example of Gothic architecture by its original owner Horace Walpole. Having been a point of interest then, it still remains an attraction to the present day. Visitors can wander through the home which has been restored through documented letters and drawings, commissioned by Walpole himself, that recorded the changes of the home.
