Cambridge re-signalling: Major engineering work in the Cambridge area from Friday 27 December to Friday 3 January

Description

Major re-signalling work is taking place over several days in the Cambridge area during the Christmas and New Year period, closing various lines. The following service changes will be made:

CrossCountry:

Friday 27 December:

Buses will replace trains between Ely, Cambridge and Stansted Airport. If you are travelling to / from Cambridge North, you should use connecting rail services between Ely and Cambridge North or Great Northern bus services between Cambridge North and Cambridge.

Saturday 28 December to Wednesday 1 January:

Buses replace trains between Ely and Stansted Airport.

Thursday 2 and Friday 3 January:

Buses replace trains between Cambridge and Stansted Airport.

Greater Anglia:

Friday 27 December:

Buses will replace trains between Audley End and Cambridge North, and between Cambridge and Bury St Edmunds.

Until 09:00, no trains will run between Cambridge and Norwich, or between Bury St Edmunds and Peterborough. Additionally, the 07:58 Ipswich to Peterborough service will terminate at March.

Saturday 28 December to Friday 3 January:

Buses replace trains between Cambridge North / Cambridge and Audley End.

Monday 30 December to Wednesday 1 January:

Buses replace trains between Cambridge and Bury St Edmunds.

Great Northern and Thameslink:

Friday 27 December:

Buses will replace trains between Royston and Cambridge North.

An amended train service will run between London Kings Cross and Royston, and between Cambridge North and Kings Lynn.

Saturday 28 December to Wednesday 1 January:

Buses will replace trains between Royston and Cambridge North.

A revised train service will operate between Brighton / London Kings Cross and Royston and between Cambridge North and Kings Lynn.

Thursday 2 and Friday 3 January:

Buses will replace trains between Royston and Cambridge.

An additional fast bus service will run non-stop between Royston and Cambridge North, to allow interchange with services to / from Kings Lynn.

A revised train service will operate between Brighton / London Kings Cross and Royston and between Cambridge and Kings Lynn.
